The Police and Army held a 'show of power march' in Rawalpindi city in order to maintain the law and order situation during the month of Muharram-ul Haram and meet any untoward incident from the miscreants. The flag march was led by District Nazim Raja Tariq Mehboob Kiani and district police officer (DPO) Murawet Shah. The march, which was based on a huge number of military, police and other law enforcement agencies' vehicles, started from the Police lines and after passing through various routes of the city and cantonment area it returned to Police Lines.

Following the strict orders from the Federal government to make sure the security during Muharram, Pakistan Army will remain on call during this month in order to reinforce the police and other law-enforcement agencies during this month.

Police and other law enforcement agencies were put on high alert and all mosques, Imam-bargahs, installations including airport, railway stations and bus stands were kept under the tight security blanket.

The police was asked to keep strict vigil on anti social elements.

After the terrorist incident at Bari Imam shrine in Federal capital, the government took serious measures to maintain the law and order situation in the country.
